Some users have reported issues while using Professional and Corporate Affinity together with certain versions of Microsoft Office. This update provides a new version of the Affinity Excel Add-in program (PCRES.XLA) that addresses the following potential issues:

1. error message "File error: data may have been lost." when loading the Affinity Excel Add-in program (PCRES.XLA) into Excel, especially in Office 2003. This error message appears when opening Excel using File | Activate Excel through the Affinity interface or opening up the PCRES.XLA file manually;
2. error message "Abnormal macro termination" when attempting to print using Affinity's print functions (such as Print Default);
3. very large Affinity files freezing during a resize procedure; and
4. all tabs within Affinity files not being displayed when trying to view them on the Parameters tab in the Affinity interface.

This update is optional. While it is only necessary to resolve the issues noted above, we do recommend that you apply this update to assure that your tools are always the most current.

This is an update to an existing system. This is not a full, working system; it must be installed onto an existing version of Corporate or Professional Affinity Version 3.3.

Professional Affinity v3.2

This release updates Professional Affinity version 3.2 to a 32-bit architecture, allowing the system to take full advantage of the newer operating systems.  Benefits include support for long file names (longer than 8 characters), increased system stability, and more efficient processing, especially when running under Windows 2000 or XP.  It also includes the fixes in the Service Pack 1 above, so there is no need to install that if you are also installing this update.

This update is optional.

This is an update to an existing system.  This is not a full, working system;  it must be installed onto an existing v3.2 system.

Professional Affinity v3.0 and higher
Corporate Affinity v3.0 and higher

This Excel spreadsheet provides an overview of many of the commonly-used PW Functions that are available in Affinity.  They are preprogrammed functions for your use in Excel, like the more common Excel formula functions; however, these PW Functions provide advanced, actuarial-specific capabilities, like formatting triangles and calculating interpolation, all automatically.  They allow you to easily build sophisticated actuarial spreadsheet models.
