One minor fix for analyses relying on user-defined scalars

We have identified a minor issue in our version 4.6 release.  It is possible that user-defined scalars may not actually save their values upon saving and closing the file.  A patch for version 4.6 is available to remedy this situation.  You can obtain this latest patch here:

 

 

Numerous Minor Improvements and Resolutions

This release provides modifications and fixes to a number of issues reported by our Clients over the past year.  Examples of these include minor refinements in the way ReservePro calculates Volume Weighted Averages when excluding high and lows, and in how the system handles selected development factors when deleting a diagonal of data.  Details of all the changes are provided the system's readme.htm file.

Exclude Outliers

You can now exclude specific factors in a development exhibit from the related column averages and statistics on that exhibit.  This provides you the option of seeing your averages without the effects of specific outliers or other potentially non-recurring events.  Excluded points appear with lines stricken through them, making their omission obvious both on the screen and in printed reports.

Batch Printing Capabilities

We have added new batch printing to ReservePro's printing capabilities.  This functionality expands on the previous ability to select a number of tables and print from many different files.  You can now identify one or more print lists, including numerous page layout changes, and match them up with a list of ReservePro data files, then print them all in sequence.  You can even save all the print lists and lists of data files together as a "batch," which can then be opened and printed again at a later date with only a few clicks. For more information about using the new batch printing capabilities, please refer to the Help system or to the updated on-line User Manual installed with this release.

This new release can alert you when new software updates are available. Upon start-up, the system will check for an Internet connection, and if one is available from your computer, it will check with our Web site to identify if newer software is available for you to download. If something new is available, you will receive a link to more information about the new release and how to obtain it.  Also, the Help | About ReservePro dialog now performs a similar check whenever you open it, and responds with the fact that your system is up-to-date or with a note that updates are available.

The Volume Weighted Averages (VWAs) in ReservePro's exhibits now properly account for zeros in all cases.  Like all of ReservePro's exhibit averages, unless you selected otherwise, the system's VWA calculation automatically excludes zeros.  That default remains unchanged in this new release.  However, if you select the checkbox to include zeros in your VWA calculation, the results will be slightly different in this new system than in previous versions.  The new calculation divides the sum of one column of losses or claim counts by the sum of the corresponding elements in the previous column.  This new calculation will account for the development correctly for instances where there are zeroes in your triangle.

Note: If you obtained our interim release version 4.3, this newer 4.4 version provides a fix for an error when using VWAs and excluding high and low amounts.

The 2006 versions of the US Insurance CD-ROM service (containing 2005 annual statement data) included a file format change which requires a ReservePro update.  Version 4.4 now reads the 2005 annual statement data as well as previous years’ CDs.

Exhibits can now display up to twelve sets of historical selections (the previous maximum was four rows of history).

The Comparison of Ultimate Estimate Report set-up screen now lists all methods, with icons identifying the methods that calculate to an ultimate.  Also, the methods now appear in the "Selected" list in the order they were chosen, rather than alphabetically.

The Compress Rows function now leaves selected factors in the data file rather than automatically clearing them.

Development Factor Library tail factors now compress and cumulate correctly when there are blanks in the intervening cells and the factor set is applied to data with a smaller structure (thus requiring the compression).

The Interpolation functions (InterpolateLinear, InterpolateWeibull, Interpolate Exponential, InterpolateInversePower) now return the correct values in all cases when used in user-defined reports.
